Film Curation & Research: A Masterclass with London Migration Film Festival

Where & when: Thursday 1st July, 5:30-7:00pm on Zoom
About the event:

We're delighted to welcome the founders and lead programmers of the London Migration Film Festival, Laura Stahnke and Lily Parrott, for a masterclass on the practicalities, ethics and research process of curating migration cinema. Laura and Lily will share their experiences of setting up and directing the festival each year, and their reflective process of curating films about migration. They will describe how organising the festival enables them to think about the relationship between film, film organisations, and wider societal issues (including, but not limited to, migration), bridging practice and research.

You are invited to join us for Lily and Laura's presentation, and participate in an extended discussion about the practicalities and politics involved in [film] curation - in relation to migration and intersecting topics such as race, gender, sexuality, climate emergency, and labour.

You can find out more and book a (free) ticket on our Eventbrite page: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/film-curation-research-a-masterclass-with-london-migration-film-festival-tickets-157229135577
